Angry youths force MCA to walk through muddy road in protest over poor infrastructure

In Sirende ward, Trans Nzoia county, a group of angry youths forced their MCA, Alfred Weswa, to walk through a muddy road to express their frustration over poor infrastructure.

Weswa had just attended a funeral when the youths intercepted him, chasing away his aide and allies.

“You have been in power for over 11 years with no tangible development. The roads are impassable, and the area is inaccessible. Why continue representing us when you are not performing?” lamented one youth.

The youths accused the MCA of luring the elderly with handouts to secure his political position, only to neglect improving the area.

“You cannot defend yourself on poor performance. We want you to resign, or we will force you out,” said another youth.

They then forced Weswa out of his Toyota Land Cruiser and made him walk through the muddy Bikeke-Misemwa road.

His attempts to appease the youths with money were futile as they insisted on development rather than pocket change.

Fearing for his safety, Weswa obliged and began the two-kilometer walk through the mud.

He blamed his political rivals for plotting his ouster, claiming some accusations were baseless and urging people to understand his role as an MCA.
