She is not fit to serve as CS, Committee rejects Raila Odinga’s loyalist Stella Soi

The National Assembly Committee on Appointments has rejected the nomination of Stella Soi Langat for the position of Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage.

Despite this, the committee has approved the appointment of 19 other Cabinet nominees who were vetted last week.

The committee’s report is scheduled to be presented to Parliament on Wednesday. The approved nominees who met the committee’s criteria include:

Kithure Kindiki (Interior), Deborah Barasa (Health), Alice Wahome (Lands), Julius Ogamba (Education), Soipan Tuya (Defence), Andrew Karanja (Agriculture), Aden Duale (Environment), Eric Muuga (Water), Davis Chirchir (Transport), Margaret Ndung’u (ICT), John Mbadi (Treasury), Salim Mvurya (Trade), Rebecca Miano (Tourism), Opiyo Wandayi (Energy), Kipchumba Murkomen (Sports), Ali Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy), lfred Mutua (Labour), Wycliffe Oparanya (Co-operatives and MSMEs), Justin Muturi (Public Service)

Parliament will now deliberate on whether to uphold the committee’s recommendation regarding Stella Soi Langat or to determine her suitability for the role independently.
