John Mbadi, the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for Treasury and Economic Planning, headed straight to his new office at Fedha House today, following his swearing-in ceremony at State House this morning.
The office had been meticulously prepared for the former lawmaker and long-time leader of the minority.

Before his appointment, Mbadi was a prominent figure in the National Assembly, serving as the chair of the Public Accounts Committee for four terms.
His deep experience and leadership were key reasons for his nomination to replace Prof. Njuguna Ndungu in what President William Ruto has heralded as a ‘broad-based’ cabinet reshuffle.
In addition to Mbadi’s high-profile appointment, the reshuffle saw several notable figures stepping into substantive roles.
Former Governors and deputy ODM party leaders Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya have been nominated for key positions, alongside former Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi.
The reshuffle signals a dynamic shift in the administration’s approach, aiming to bring a fresh perspective and renewed vigor to the government’s economic and planning strategies.
