GARISSA: Police in Garissa have detained a 70-year-old woman suspected of harboring dangerous criminals involved in violent robberies in Burburis, Garissa sub-county.

Habiba Yusuf is believed to be sheltering and protecting two notorious criminals: 38-year-old Isaac Muhumed, also known as ‘Jografia,’ and his 30-year-old accomplice, Muhumed Barre Hussein.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the successful operation was conducted by a multi-agency team acting on a tip from the public.

During the raid, officers confiscated materials and weapons believed to be used in the criminal activities.

“Upon raiding their hideout, law enforcement officers unearthed a treasure trove of incriminating evidence, including an AK-47 rifle with serial number A082674 and six rounds of ammunition, 12 mobile phones, and two knives, among other damning items,” said the DCI in a statement released to the media.

The trio was escorted to Garissa Police Station for processing and is pending arraignment on Monday.
