Minor battling for his life after hyena attack in Juja

A four-year-old boy is battling for his life at Murang’a Level Five Hospital after being attacked by a hyena.

According to the hospital’s report, the minor sustained severe head, chest, and leg injuries after a hyena snatched him from his grandmother’s hand yesterday evening while they were walking home.

Dr. Leonard Gikera, who is attending to the boy, reported that the child has flesh missing from his cheeks and right eye due to the hyena bites.

This incident highlights the rising human-wildlife conflict in Juja, Kiambu County.

Just two months ago, an elderly woman was attacked and mauled by a hyena early in the morning as she was opening her business.
