Man who murdered two children arrested in Kajiado

KAJIADO: Police have, at long last, arrested a man accused of murdering his two nieces two weeks ago in Lekuruki village Kajiado North sub county.

35-year-old Denis Munguti was arrested on Tuesday night in Olkeri ward, five kilometres from Ngong where the murders took place.

The suspect was living with a student from a neighbouring secondary school, who was also arrested after members of the public alerted the police.

The deceased sisters, 4-year-old Pauline Wanjiku and 6-year-old Bridgit Mukulu were murdered in their grandmother’s house.

Their 19-year-old aunt escaped with serious injuries and is currently fighting for her life in hospital.

According to a neighbor, Mwajuma Kakai, she heard the children screaming but thought they were playing, only to stumble on their lifeless bodies in a pool of blood moments later.

The Ngong police said Denis will be arraigned in court to face murder charges.

The family is seeking financial help to help pay hospital bills for the survivor who is in a critical condition
