In what has sparked public outrage in Machakos County, a boda boda rider was arrested after allegedly assaulting a female passenger sexually on Saturday night.

According to superficial investigations conducted by the police, the suspect, instead of delivering her to her destination, he changed course and committed a sadistic act near Machakos town.

The victim, who suffered a broken arm and severe leg injuries, was promptly taken to Machakos Level V Hospital for treatment.

Local residents intervened upon discovering the assault, apprehending the suspect and bringing him to the police station.

Allan Musembi, chairman of the boda boda riders in Machakos County, spoke out about the incident, emphasizing the community’s commitment to ensuring the safety of passengers.

“We are collaborating closely with the police to root out rogue riders and maintain the integrity of our industry,” Musembi stated.
