Two police officers injured by a thug in Kehancha

Kuria West: Two police officers were injured after being assaulted by a suspect they attempted to arrest in Kehancha.

The suspect, identified as a notorious gang leader, was seen near the Mosque in Kehancha town.

Upon attempting to arrest him, the suspect, named Lucas, drew a Somali sword and began attacking the officers.

According to a police incident report, “They rushed to Kehancha Township near the Mosque to effect arrest of one notorious gang leader known as Lucas. Unfortunately, he tried to run away and when he was caught, he removed a Somali sword. In the process of the scuffle, he managed to stab Police Constable Kalama on the right hand and chest, and Kingori was injured on the left elbow and right leg.”

The report further stated, “During the incident, officers expended four rounds of ammunition. The suspect managed to escape. Both officers have been treated and discharged in fair condition at Kuria West Sub-County Hospital. A sharp lookout is ongoing for the arrest of the suspect.”
