Ex-PS Dave Munya Mwangi Charged in Multi-Million Shilling Land Fraud Case

NAIROBI CITY: Former Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Internal Security, Dave Munya Mwangi, has been charged with the fraudulent acquisition of a prime parcel of land along Mombasa Road.

Mwangi is accused of forging a title deed in collaboration with a rogue official from the Ministry of Lands, leading to the illicit transfer and lease of the property.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Land Fraud Investigators launched a thorough investigation following a complaint by the defrauded landowner.

The investigation revealed that Mwangi, alongside Sammy Louis Karanja and Moses Ojuka (a former employee at the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning), forged documents for the 1.591-hectare parcel.

The forged documents were then used to transfer the land into the names of companies owned by Mwangi.

The land was subsequently leased to a Chinese company for Sh12 million.

Following the investigation, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) charged Mwangi and his accomplices with conspiracy to defraud, uttering a false document, and forgery of a title deed.

Mwangi, who is also the Director of Olbolsat Farm Limited, was arrested and arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a bond of Sh20 million, with an alternative cash bail of Sh5 million.
