CS Interior, Murkomen visits KPA boss Capt William Ruto in hospital

MOMBASA: The Kenyan maritime and transport community is in mourning following a tragic road accident on Friday night involving Captain William Ruto, the Managing Director of the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

The crash, which occurred under circumstances still being assessed, claimed the life of Captain Ruto’s daughter and left the MD and three of his other children injured.

On Saturday, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen visited Captain Ruto at a Mombasa hospital to offer his personal support and check on the family’s progress.

Sharing an update on social media, the CS confirmed that while the loss of the MD’s daughter is a devastating blow, there is a glimmer of hope regarding the survivors’ health.

“The doctors assured me that the MD and his two children are out of danger and that they should be out of the hospital soon,” Murkomen stated, relaying the medical team’s reassurance.

During the visit, the Cabinet Secretary extended his deepest sympathies to the family as they navigate this period of grief and physical recovery.

“I condoled with Captain Ruto and wished him and other members of his family a quick recovery,” he added, as the community rallies around the KPA boss during one of his most difficult personal trials.
