Bungoma Line makes a kill in Siaya as other matatus halted operation in protest

SIAYA: Bungoma Line SACCO, the newest player on the Siaya-Kisumu route, made a major breakthrough yesterday.

This happened after other matatus plying the route halted operations in protest.

For the better part of the morning, matatu owners parked their vehicles at the entrance of the Siaya Governor’s office.

They sought a meeting with the governor to voice concerns about the rising popularity of Bungoma Line SACCO.

This marks the second attempt by Bungoma Line to establish itself on the competitive Siaya-Kisumu route.

“The new SACCO is hurting our business. We need the governor’s intervention to protect our livelihoods,” said a matatu driver at the county offices.

Despite their efforts, they failed to meet the governor. Disheartened, the drivers returned to the highway.

Meanwhile, Bungoma Line took full advantage of the situation. With no competition, their operations ran smoothly, ferrying passengers in and out of Siaya.

Passengers welcomed the new SACCO with enthusiasm.

“Thank God for Bungoma Line,” said one passenger. “The other matatus had arrogant crews who treated us poorly.”

He added, “Bungoma Line is time-conscious, doesn’t overload, and treats passengers with respect.”

The entry of Bungoma Line SACCO is not just reshaping the Siaya-Kisumu route but also raising the bar for service quality.
