County employee takes own life after allegedly missing salary in his account

SIAYA: Residents of Bondo township in Siaya County woke up to tragic news after a county government employee was found dead in what is suspected to be suicide.

Fredrick Omondi Adala, a 47-year-old subordinate staff member in the county’s Human Resource department, was discovered hanging from a tree in a farm at Ong’ere village.

Bondo Sub-County Police Commander Robert Aboki confirmed the incident, stating that Adala’s body was found at the farm of a resident, Vitalis Okech.

Officers responding to the scene found no visible injuries, and the body was taken to Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

While the exact reason behind the suspected suicide remains unclear, reports suggest Adala may have visited his bank and allegedly missed his salary before his death.

Police have launched investigations to determine the circumstances leading to the incident, as no suicide note was recovered.

Authorities urge residents to seek help in times of distress and report any signs of mental health struggles among their peers.
