Nyando MP Jared Okelo has criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his recent remarks warning President William Ruto against taking action against Chief Justice Martha Koome.
Speaking in Gem Wagai today, Okelo dismissed Gachagua’s statement as reckless, asserting that no leader should dictate where the president can or cannot visit.
“I heard the former Deputy President issuing threats that the president should not go to Meru if CJ Koome is impeached or removed from office. That is very unfortunate,” Okelo said.
The lawmaker further pledged to personally accompany President Ruto to Meru County, assuring his safety.
“In fact, I will provide security for the president myself. I will tell the security officials to rest that day, and I will personally ensure his safety in Meru,” he stated.
Okelo also commended the president for his leadership, emphasizing the need for national unity and political stability.
