Locals from Siaya Town today had an opportunity to enjoy their favorite Coca-Cola brand when the “Shika Mzito” campaign was launched in the town.
The global beverage giant announced a price reduction for its 500ml bottle, from Sh60 to Sh50.
This price drop is part of their new “Shika Mzito” campaign, which translates to “hold it strong” or “get a good deal.”
For the next three months, consumers in ten counties from Western Kenya – Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Siaya, Kisii, Nyamira, Kakamega, Bungoma, Vihiga, and Busia – can enjoy their favorite Coca-Cola beverages, including Fanta, Coke, and Sprite, at this new, more affordable price.
The “Shika Mzito” campaign aims to celebrate the strong sense of community within the Nyanza and Western regions by making their beloved soft drinks more accessible for everyone to enjoy together.

“Nyanza and Western are known for their strong community bonds, Coca-Cola’s Iconic 500ML pack has always been a part of these connections,” said Weslene Orwoba, Senior Marketing Manager, Coca-Cola Kenya.
“Whether it’s after a long day in farms, during a break, or while cheering on a favourite football team, these are moments that bring people together—and nothing complements them better than an ice-cold Coke. ‘Shika Mzito’ is our way of celebrating those moments and making them even more enjoyable with an affordable refreshment.”
Coca-Cola has a long-standing connection to the region’s vibrant football culture and community celebrations, an area proud to be the home of legendary teams such as Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Kakamega Homeboyz, Shabana FC, and many others.
Speaking in Siaya Town, Coca-Cola Beverages Kenya’s Experiential Marketing Manager, Ampha Apidi, emphasized that the promotion is intended to foster unity within the region.
“When we gather, we celebrate our unity with our cherished Coca-Cola brand. ‘Shika Mzito’ embodies the spirit of celebrating our unique culture of togetherness,” said Apidi.
The Coca-Cola caravan promoting the “Shika Mzito” campaign is scheduled to visit Kisumu, followed by Homa Bay and Migori, before proceeding to Kisii and Nyamira.
