Revealed!! Siaya Deputy Governor Oduol was Denied Allowance During State House Visit

SIAYA: Siaya Deputy Governor Dr William Oduol reportedly faced an embarrassing setback during last week’s State House visit after he was denied his allowance, even as other leaders pocketed theirs.

Kondele News has reliably learned that both elected and non-elected leaders who formed part of the delegation received allowances—except for Dr. Oduol.

Dr Oduol and Governor James Orengo fell out months after they were elected on an ODM ticket to lead Siaya County.

A senior official, who spoke to Kondele News on condition of anonymity, revealed details of how the allowances were distributed among the officials.

“The delegation was split into two groups: the county assembly and the executive, which included all elected leaders,” the source, who works in the office of an elected Siaya leader, said.

According to the source, things took a dramatic turn after the meeting when selected leaders were summoned to receive their allowances.

“The county assembly received their share without any issues through their leader. However, when it came time for the other group, the amount was unexpectedly slashed. Some of us only got a fraction of what we were supposed to receive,” the official explained.

Shockingly, while others received reduced amounts, Dr Oduol was completely left out despite his share being part of the money received from State house.

“It was in very bad taste to sideline a senior leader like the Deputy Governor. He did not get even a single cent,” the source added.

Kondele News has also learned that on the same day, Dr Oduol was scheduled to travel abroad to attend his daughter’s graduation ceremony.

“It painted a bad picture. When leaders visit a place like State House, there should be at least some show of unity—if not always, then at least in that moment,” the source noted.
