Mugunas Supermarket looters apprehended by police in Meru

MAUA: Meru law enforcement officers have successfully apprehended three individuals suspected of being behind a series of daring attacks, including the arson at Magunas Supermarket on July 7, 2025.

Ian Mugambi, Abdulatif Murithi, and Teddy Kaimenyi are the names now linked to the widespread damage.

CCTV footage reportedly shows them looting and setting Magunas Supermarket ablaze, in addition to breaking into and stealing from Seven Eleven Lounge and Selelite Supermarket on the same date.

A crucial piece of evidence, a dark green motorcycle (registration number KMGN 839F), allegedly used during the incidents, was recovered by officers during the arrests.

The suspects are currently in custody, undergoing processing, and are expected to face charges soon as authorities continue their search for other individuals involved in the attacks.
