DCI Volleyball Queens Conclude Season with African Championship Spot Secured!

NAIROBI: The DCI Volleyball Queens bowed out of the 2024/2025 season after a valiant effort in the Kenya Cup third-place playoff against Kenya Prisons at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, narrowly missing out on a podium finish.

Despite the loss, the Queens wrapped up the season with an impressive track record: a second-place finish in the Kenya Volleyball Federation League, a runner-up spot at the Kipchumba Karori Volleyball Tournament, and a respectable fourth place in the Kenya Cup.

With two podium finishes under their belt, the team has secured a spot in the African Volleyball Club Championship, affirming their position among the top-tier teams in Kenyan volleyball.

Speaking on behalf of the Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr Mohamed Amin, the DCI’s Director of Liaison and Corporate Communications, Mr John Marete, praised the team for their commendable performance throughout the season.

“As we move forward, I urge each of you to focus on the journey ahead. Visualize our potential and set your sights high. We are capable of remarkable achievements if we continue to support one another and work as a cohesive unit,” he said.

Team manager Neddy Kilimo attributed the season’s success to the players’ unwavering dedication and discipline—a sentiment echoed by head coach Patrick Sang, who praised the team’s unity and relentless effort.

As the curtains fall on the 2024/2025 volleyball season, the DCI Volleyball Queens leave the court with their heads held high, ready to return next season as formidable title contenders.
