All matatus must follow the law, Mosiria tells President’s son George Ruto

Nairobi’s Chief Officer for Environment, Geoffrey Mosiria, has issued a stern warning to George Ruto, son of President William Ruto, regarding the laws governing the matatu industry.

Speaking on the “2Mbili show,” Mosiria first acknowledged the creativity behind the new matatu, “MOOD,” believed to be owned by the First Son.

“I must say the creativity is top-notch, but they must follow the law that governs the matatu business, let it create a good mood and not break the law,” Mosiria stated.

He continued, emphasizing noise regulations: “There should be no loud noise emanating from the matatu while in the CBD. That is the law. There are institutions within the CBD, businesses, as well as other activities that require minimal noise.”

The new matatu, “MOOD,” has been turning heads with its exclusive services. These include a deep freezer serving chilled drinks to passengers and a dedicated space for a DJ to entertain travelers.

Despite his warning, Mosiria also seemed to offer a lighthearted concession. “The creativity of the new matatu is top-notch,” he added, “I will be giving them one of the best DJs in town to play music for them.”

George Ruto is steadily establishing himself in the matatu business, reportedly owning several matatus that ply various routes across the city.
