Two Arrested, Sh13.5 Million Worth of Bhang Seized on Naivasha-Nairobi Highway

Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) have arrested two suspected drug traffickers and seized 450 kilograms of cannabis sativa, estimated to be worth Sh13.5 million.

Acting on a tip-off, officers intercepted a Toyota Noah (registration number KBH 226U) near the Delamere shop along the Naivasha-Nairobi highway.

The vehicle was being driven by Bonface Mandende Zinjenga, who was accompanied by John Oloo Amolo.

Upon escorting the suspects and the vehicle to Naivasha Police Station, a thorough search revealed eight gunny bags and eleven bales of bhang, all weighing approximately 450 kilograms and concealed for distribution.

Following the discovery, both the suspects and the motor vehicle were transferred to the DCI headquarters for further processing.

They are expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.

Authorities praised the public for sharing actionable intelligence and reiterated the government’s commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking networks operating across the country.
