Police Seize 6,000 Rolls of Bhang in Mariakani Trailer Bust

MARIAKANI: Police in Mariakani have intercepted a trailer transporting 6,000 rolls of cannabis sativa, following an intelligence-led operation along the Mariakani–Mazeras Road on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers who stopped and searched the vehicle discovered six sacks stuffed with the rolls of bhang.

The trailer’s driver was immediately arrested and taken to the Coast Regional Police Headquarters for processing, pending arraignment in court.

In a statement, NPS commended members of the public for providing the crucial tip-off that enabled the successful operation.
