Erick Omondi has debts to pay after Manchester United lose in the opener

Comedian Erick Omondi, popularly known as the President of Comedy in Africa, has found himself in a tight spot after Manchester United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal in their season opener at Old Trafford.

Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, Omondi had confidently staked a hefty promise. In a video posted on his social media pages, he vowed to reward each Manchester United player with Sh5 million if they triumphed over the Gunners.

Closer to home, he pledged Sh400,000 each to notable Arsenal fans in Kenya, including media personality Carol Radul, digital creator Useful Idioty, and Joe Muchiri — should United falter.

“Manchester is meeting Arsenal and we know this is a walk-over. Hii imeisha kabla ianze. As Erick Omondi, the President of Comedy in Africa, I want to offer all Manchester United players Sh5 million each. I don’t know how much that is in Euros,” Omondi said before the match.

But after the Red Devils’ defeat, Arsenal fans were quick to remind the comedian of his bold promises. Useful Idioty even uploaded a video attempting to call Omondi, only for the call to go unanswered.

“I am trying to call jamaa wa deni. Hawezi shika sababu anajua ako na deni,” Useful Idioty joked in the clip.

As fans continue to flood Omondi’s timeline with reminders, the comedian is yet to issue an official response on whether he intends to honor his pledges.
