Former Siaya County Assembly Clerk shot dead at his Resort in Kisumu County

The former Siaya County Assembly Clerk Felix Isaac Olwero was shot dead by a police officers at his Resort in Seme, Kisumu County in what the police have claimed to be a mistaken incident.

Police officers had responded to an alarm raised by the manager that some people tried to break into the premises.

Officers from Komebwa Police Station responded swiftly and cordoned off the premises from the back side.

“Upon arrival the officers cordoned the resort from the back side. And  while in the scene abruptly a group of about six people emerged from a ticket outside  the resort  while armed with pangas and matchets,” stated the incident report.

The police further mentioned, “One of the officers fired warning short in the air and warned them to surrender but they charged towards the officers  and one of the thugs raised a panga and almost cut one officer prompting the officer to shoot and fatally injured one Felix Isaac Olwero a male adult  about  50 yrs old.”

The area was secured by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and crime scene investigators, who photographed and processed evidence. The body was later moved to Komebwa County Hospital morgue, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

Police have launched investigations to track down the remaining suspects who escaped during the incident.
