Bandit Arrested, AK-47 Recovered in Elgeyo Marakwet Operation

A multi-agency security team has successfully recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition after an intelligence-led operation in the Kabetwa area of Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The operation, which took place today, led to the interception of a suspected bandit. The security team recovered one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and twelve rounds of ammunition. A smoke jacket was also seized.

The recovered items have been secured as evidence, and the suspect is in custody, awaiting processing and arraignment.

The National Police Service has commended the officers for their dedication to anti-banditry operations.

The service reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing security within the Kerio Valley and other affected regions.
