Legendary Congolese singer Mbilia Bel, born Marie Claire Mboyo, is responding well to treatment after she was involved in accident five days ago.
She was involved in a road accident on the morning of September 9, 2025, while on her way to N’djili International Airport.
Bel and her promoter, Jules Nsana, were both injured in the crash and immediately taken to a hospital in Kinshasa.
While initial reports on social media were filled with misinformation, official sources have since confirmed their stable condition.
A family member was quoted saying, “Mbilia was unharmed but hospitalized for precautionary medical observation,” clarifying that her injuries were to her head and legs.
Nsana also sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Kinshasa.
The Agence Congolaise de Presse (ACP), the country’s official news agency, confirmed the accident and provided relief to fans by stating that both individuals were out of danger.
This was further corroborated by renowned MC Marc Tabu, the son of legendary musician Tabu Ley Rochereau, who assured the public of their safety.
