Police Arrest Man with KSh 300,000 Worth of Cannabis

KAKAMEGA: A 26-year-old man was arrested in Mumias West Sub-County, Kakamega, for trafficking narcotic drugs.

The arrest took place yesterday, September 19, 2025, in Lukoye village along the Bungoma–Mumias road.

Police officers, acting on an intelligence tip, intercepted the suspect and discovered he was in possession of 40 brooms of cannabis sativa.

The seized drugs have an estimated street value of KSh 300,000.

The suspect is currently being held in custody and is awaiting arraignment.

The National Police Service has praised the officers for their vigilance and reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and other related crimes.
