As the final curtain fell on the life of gospel icon Betty Bayo at Ndumberi Stadium today, a new chapter of hope was opened for her two young children.
In a move to ensure the singer’s legacy lives on through her family, President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki have established a KSh10 million trust fund dedicated to the education and welfare of her children.
The substantial donation was announced by DP Kindiki, who joined hundreds of mourners in Kiambu County to pay his final respects.
“This money will be channeled into a trust fund… ensuring stable support even in her absence,” DP Kindiki stated, emphasizing that the fund would be managed with strict transparency.
The gesture brought a moment of relief to an otherwise somber ceremony, where tears flowed freely for the “11th Hour” hitmaker.
While the burial was attended by high-profile figures, including former CS Moses Kuria, Senator Karen Nyamu, and Prof George Wajackoyah, the focus remained firmly on the young family left behind.
For Betty Bayo, a woman eulogized as a resilient fighter who faced her battles quietly, this financial shield for her children serves as the ultimate parting gift from a nation grateful for her ministry.
