Coca-Cola Christmas caravan spreads joy and festive cheer across Nyanza

The Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan has lit up Nyanza, bringing festive joy, generosity, and community spirit to residents in a celebration of the season.

In Migori town, Monday evening, the streets came alive as the vibrant caravan, illuminated with red and white lights, snaked through the town, spreading cheer and smiles.

Santas waved to excited residents, while music and laughter filled the air, transforming the usually busy streets into scenes of holiday magic.

Under the theme “The World Needs More Santas,” the caravan delivered a heartfelt message encouraging residents to share, give, and uplift one another, whether in big ways or small.

Coca-Cola teams distributed Christmas goodies that brought smiles to many, including oil, chapati flour, chickens, and goats, traditional treats that define festive celebrations in Nyanza homes.

“I was just passing by when I saw the Coca-Cola caravan and joined the crowd. I was given a raffle ticket, and to my delight, I won a goat along with oil and maize flour. I’m very happy and will celebrate with my family and neighbours,” said Okongo Okanda, a boda boda rider from Suna West.

Families lined the streets, and traders paused their routines to witness the spectacle. Laughter, ululations, and festive cheer accompanied every gift handed out, highlighting the joy of giving and the spirit of togetherness.

The colourful caravan officially kicked off on Saturday in Nairobi and is touring 36 counties nationwide.

Nyanza region was chosen for the first stops, starting in Nyamira, passing through Kisii and Migori, and moving on to Homa Bay, Kisumu, and Siaya before heading to Western counties including Busia, Vihiga, Bungoma, and Kakamega, eventually returning to Nairobi via Eldoret, Baringo, Kericho, and Nakuru.

Monique Katana, Director of Frontline Marketing at Coca-Cola East and Central Africa, said during the launch in Nairobi on Saturday:

“Through our Caravan and local activations, we hope to remind Kenyans that small acts of generosity can make a big difference. The holidays are a time to pause, refresh, and reconnect with the people and moments that truly matter.”

This year’s Caravan celebrates everyday heroes and the warmth and generosity of Kenyans. Blending immersive festive experiences, entertainment, and thoughtful giveaways that reflect local traditions, the initiative is spreading a powerful message: this season, the world truly needs more Santas.
