Missing Embu University Student Found Dead in Kirinyaga

Jackline Ruguru, a 22-year-old student at Embu University, was reported missing after leaving home on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

She had planned to visit Kiamutugu market in the company of a friend.

The two finished their errands and later stopped briefly at a nearby pub. When they parted ways, witnesses said they saw Jackline riding away on a motorbike with two men.

She never returned home that evening, prompting worry among her family and friends.

A week later, on November 23, Jackline’s body was discovered in a coffee farm in Ngiriambu, Kirinyaga County.

According to authorities, the state of the body indicated she had suffered a violent attack.

Police have launched investigations into the incident. The tragic discovery has left the local community devastated and calling for swift justice for the young student.
