Pain as a form three girl is stabbed by ‘boyfriend’

By MOURENE SCOVIAN: A somber cloud has hung over Ntana Village in Ekerenyo Sub-county following a tragic murder-suicide involving a Form Three student from Mwongoli High School and her boyfriend during a funeral vigil.

The heartbreaking incident occurred at around 1am on Monday in the Nyangwekoa Sub-location, leaving local residents in deep shock and disbelief.

According to preliminary reports, the teenage girl had been officially picked up from school by her mother to attend the burial ceremony of her grandfather.

However, during the night vigil, she reportedly met with her boyfriend, after which an altercation broke out, culminating in the fatal stabbing.

Sources indicate that the suspect fled the scene and returned to his home.

Upon learning that the student had succumbed to her severe stab wounds, the young man reportedly took his own life.

Local administration and village elders described the scene as devastating, noting that what was meant to be a solemn send off for an elder turned into a double tragedy for the family and the village.

Police from Ekerenyo Sub-county have since launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances leading up to the violent confrontation.

The bodies of the deceased have been moved to a local mortuary pending post-mortem examinations.
