Two arrested with 114 rolls of bhang strapped to their bodies in Migori

Two suspected drug traffickers are in custody at the Migori Police Station after they were intercepted ferrying over 100 rolls of cannabis sativa along the Migori-Sirare highway.

The suspects, identified as 35-year-old Luke Okello and 28-year-old Steve Odero, were arrested during a coordinated ambush by police officers in the Namba area of Suna West Sub-County.

Acting on a tip-off from members of the public, law enforcement officers intercepted the duo as they traveled on a Boxer Bajaj motorcycle.

Upon stopping the motorcycle, officers discovered that the suspects had taped the narcotics directly onto their torsos under oversized jackets to evade detection at security checkpoints. A body search revealed a precise breakdown of the seized contraband:

Okelo wa found with 77 rolls of bhang strapped to his body while his friend Steve Odero had 37 rolls of bhang concealed beneath his clothing.

The motorcycle was impounded and towed to the station as an exhibit. Both suspects remain in police custody undergoing administrative processing and are expected to be arraigned in court to face formal charges of trafficking narcotics.
