Uriri MP Mark Nyamita welcomes Infotrak ranking as Nyanza’s top-performing lawmaker

Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita has welcomed the latest CountyTrak Performance Index by research firm Infotrak, which ranks him as the best-performing legislator in the Nyanza region.

According to the nationwide survey findings, Nyamita secured an impressive 71 percent approval rating from his constituents, placing him ahead of his regional peers.

Speaking shortly after the release of the poll results, Nyamita expressed profound gratitude to the people of Uriri for their continued trust and confidence in his leadership.

He noted that the exemplary score was not an individual achievement but a collective milestone for the entire constituency.

“This recognition belongs entirely to the residents of Uriri, my dedicated constituency service team, and all development partners who have walked with us to transform our area,” Nyamita said.

“Leadership is fundamentally about serving people and changing lives at the grassroots, not about chasing personal accolades or praise. However, an objective scorecard like this gives us the validation and motivation to work even harder.”

The lawmaker attributed his high performance rating to an intentional strategy focused on equity and the balanced distribution of resource allocations across all wards in Uriri.

He highlighted that the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) framework has been carefully utilized to address critical development pillars.

Under his current tenure, the fund has financed comprehensive school infrastructure upgrades, including building modern classrooms, while expanding local bursary schemes to cushion vulnerable students.

The kitty has also been channeled toward strengthening localized security projects and responding to urgent community socio-economic needs.

Nyamita further noted that keeping open channels of communication through regular village town halls and stakeholder consultative meetings has allowed his office to remain responsive and aligned with the immediate priorities of the electorate.

Turning his focus to the upcoming 2027 General Election, Nyamita dismissed the urge for premature political campaigns, stating that his primary focus remains fulfilling the developmental promises made in his manifesto.

He expressed confidence that a solid track record of performance, transparency, and strict accountability would naturally speak for him when the time comes to face the voters.
