Shabana FC Secretary General Eliphan Kerama has defended the club’s financial transparency while insisting that players’ salaries and transfer agreements should remain confidential.

Speaking during a live interview on Sporty FM on Wednesday, Dr Kerama said Shabana FC is the first football club in Kenya to publicly announce its total gate collection after every home match.

He said the practice shows the club’s commitment to accountability and openness in managing its finances.

Responding to a question from a fan who wanted the club to reveal individual player salaries, Dr Kerama said every player has a right to privacy just like any other employee.

He explained that although the club is transparent in its operations, salaries and transfer agreements are personal matters that should not be made public.

Dr Kerama also urged journalists and supporters to seek information directly from the club instead of relying on rumours and unverified reports.

He said keeping salary details and transfer fees private helps protect players from unnecessary pressure and speculation, allowing them to concentrate on football.

The Shabana FC official also highlighted the club’s continued growth, noting that the senior team, Shabana Youth FC and Shabana Starlets FC are all performing well.

He said the youth team currently leads the FKF Nyanza Regional League with 43 points, while Shabana Starlets earned promotion to the Kenya Women’s Premier League after finishing the Women’s National Super League season unbeaten.
