Kenya Police and Bullets FC celebrate historic season at glamorous gala

The Serena Hotel was transformed into a scene of glamour on Tuesday evening as Kenya Police Football Club and Kenya Police Bullets FC hosted a joint end-of-season gala to celebrate an exceptionally historic 2025/26 football calendar.

The dual celebration honored the spectacular triumph of the Kenya Police Bullets, who clinched the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Premier League 2025/26 title.

The gala also recognized the men’s senior side, Police FC, for securing a strong third-place finish in the FKF Premier League and a runners-up spot in the highly competitive FKF Mozzart Bet Cup.

Representing the chief guest and club patron, Dr Raymond Omollo, the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service (DIG-KPS) and club deputy patron, Eliud Lagat, led senior police leadership and football dignitaries in rewarding outstanding sporting excellence.

The gala highlighted individual brilliance across both squads, rewarding the standout stars whose exceptional performances drove their teams to historic heights:

Abud Omar Khamis, the captain swept the awards by walking away with the coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP), Defender of the Year, and Goal of the Season awards.

Yves Koutiama on the other hand bagged the Golden Boot and Signing of the Season awards following a stellar debut campaign.

In the women’s category, Margaret Kunihira was crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) alongside capturing the Golden Boot and the prestigious Chairman’s Award.

Tereza Engesha was celebrated for her spectacular impact, taking home both the Goal of the Season and Signing of the Season accolades.

Leadership commends discipline and structural Growth

Speaking at the occasion, DIG-KPS Eliud Lagat committed to continued, robust institutional investment in the clubs’ welfare and challenged both squads to maintain high levels of discipline in order to project Kenyan football onto the continental and international stages.

Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service (DIG-APS), Gilbert Masengeli, highly commended the technical benches and playing units for their hard work, citing discipline and deep-seated teamwork as the core driving forces behind the remarkably successful season.

The gala was also graced by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Rashid Mohammed, who expressed profound gratitude to the police service leadership for their unwavering support of football infrastructure and human resource development in the country, while advising the players to remain disciplined, forward-thinking professionals.
