Police in Kayole have launched a homicide investigation following the tragic death of 19-year-old Bellacah Wambui Kamau, who died after falling from Dan’s Apartments in Kayole Kamatuto estate.
Officers are treating the matter as a homicide inquiry as they work to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal plunge.
The landlord and caretakers at the property revealed that the deceased, who was married to Antony Njoroge, had been embroiled in persistent domestic wrangles and had previously threatened to commit suicide.
According to their account, Wambui had returned to the house on Saturday after spending more than a month at her parents’ home, only to find that her husband had married and brought in another wife in her absence.
Neighbors recounted hearing a dramatic confrontation at the house on the day of the incident, raising questions among investigators and family members as to whether Wambui fell or was pushed.
As detectives piece together her final moments, Wambui’s family is struggling to come to terms with the loss.
Her grieving mother and relatives displayed baby clothes that Wambui had recently purchased in eager anticipation of her newborn, noting that she was more than four months pregnant at the time of her death.
The family has made an emotional appeal to authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, urging detectives to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice for Wambui.
