Charles Owino appointed government mouth piece as Mary Kilobi Atwoli, celebrated journalist, lands a plum position

President William Ruto has appointed former National Police Service spokesperson Charles Owino Wahongo as the new Government Spokesperson in his latest Executive reshuffle.

Owino takes over from Isaac Mwaura, who has been promoted and re designated to lead the newly created Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Disability Rights within the Executive Office of the President.

As part of the wider nominations transmitted to Parliament, President Ruto named his long-term ally, Dr Duncan Ojwang Oburu, as Chairperson of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).

Meanwhile, former KNUT Secretary-General Wilson Sossion and Antonina Lentoijoni have been nominated to join the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) as members.

Former Busia Woman Representative Flora Mutua was nominated to serve on the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Additionally, celebrated journalist Mary Nanjala Kilobi, wife of COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli, has been appointed to the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC).

She will serve alongside Wilson Kuria Thuita, Sylvia Apaa, Ahmed Kanyara Bishar, Pascalyne Ntangenoi Kimiriri, Ken Riaga, and Evalyn Chepkirui Amasa.

The seven-member committee will be subject to ratification by the National and County Government Co-ordinating Summit.
