The National Sevens Circuit heads to Kisumu this weekend for the Dala Sevens, with Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo hosting the second leg of the 2026 competition on August 1–2.

The tournament comes on the heels of a thrilling opening leg at the Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru, where defending champions KCB kicked off their title defense on a winning note by edging out Kabras Sugar 19-12 in a high-stakes final at the Nakuru Athletics Club.

Adding momentum to the Kisumu showdown, Tusker has announced a Sh1.5 million sponsorship package for the event, underlining its commitment to Kenyan rugby.

Beyond financial backing, which will bolster tournament organization and boost the winners’ prize purse, Tusker will host official after-parties on both days to elevate the fan experience.

Tusker Senior Brand Manager Brigid Wambua noted that the energy from the season opener set a high standard for Kisumu.

“The Prinsloo Sevens highlighted the incredible talent in Kenyan rugby, the passion of fans, and the unique atmosphere that makes this competition special,” Wambua said.

“As Tusker, we are proud to connect players, clubs, and communities through rugby while ensuring fans enjoy the full Dala Sevens experience responsibly.”

Kisumu Rugby Club Organising Secretary Annie Wanjiru confirmed that preparations at the venue are at an advanced stage.

“The support from Tusker has provided a major boost as we work to deliver a seamless tournament. We encourage rugby supporters from across the country to turn up in large numbers at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium,” Wanjiru urged.

The Dala Sevens marks the second stop of the six-round circuit. Action will subsequently move to the Kabeberi Sevens in Nairobi (August 15–16), Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa (August 22–23), Embu Sevens (September 5–6), and conclude with the Christie Sevens in Nairobi (September 12–13) as teams fight for top honors in the 2026 campaign.
