SIAYA: Detectives from the Gem-Yala Sub-County Criminal Investigations Office have launched a probe following the discovery of an unidentified man’s body in an open field at Kodiaga Market on Wednesday morning.

The incident came to light after local residents spotted the remains within a walled compound near a murram road leading to a local restaurant and immediately alerted law enforcement officers.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found the emaciated adult male lying on his back.

A preliminary examination revealed a small bruise on his left eyelid, though no other visible physical injuries were immediately apparent on the body.

Crime scene investigators processed and documented the area before transferring the remains to the Yala Level IV Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

The body is currently preserved at the facility as authorities work to establish the man’s identity and await a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
