Senior Sargent of Kenya Prison shot with an arrow by armed youths.

ELBURGON: A senior Kenya Prisons Warden is recovering after being shot with an arrow in what appears to be a land dispute in Nakuru County.

While on leave, the officer was attacked by a group of armed youths who had gathered around his home, evidently prepared for confrontation.

Prompt intervention from National Police Service Officers stationed at Elburgon police station revealed that the officer had sustained an arrow wound to his upper abdomen.

In addition to injuring the officer, the assailants set fire to two houses belonging to Anthony Ondeko, aged 43, and Peter Bosire, aged 31.

“The violence is suspected to be instigated by a few individuals exploiting the clashes to unlawfully acquire fertile agricultural land in the Kapsita area, posing as legitimate owners with forged ownership documents,” the police stated in an incident report.

Despite police patrols aimed at restoring order, tension remains palpable in the area. The injured officer is currently receiving medical treatment at Nakuru County Referral Hospital.
