Belgium’s defeat to the lowly ranked Slovakia team in their Euro 2024 opening match has led to Romelu Lukaku facing online ridicule.
Online trolls even compared Lukaku to an assassin who killed 2Pac Shakur 25 years ago, suggesting he would have missed if given the chance.
“Tupac would have turned 53 today if Lukaku had been the shooter” read the savage post by an online fan.
Lukaku was once described as the goal machine from Manchester United and Inter Milan, he scored a combined 120 goals in these clubs.
In the recent past however, completely shut down in recent years, especially in the national team’s jersey.
He is a star that has lost its glow when it comes to attacking and converting passes into goals.
The Belgium’s opening match was characterized by missed chances to score against their opponents with two goals from Lukaku being disqualified by the VAR.
“We had many chances, we pressed for the whole 90 minutes. Lukaku is strong, mentally strong. I want to be a fair loser and I trust the referees when it comes to disallowed goals,” concluded Domenico Tedesco, the Belgium team’s head coach.
