A post mortem examination conducted on Daniel Koikai, father of the late reggae star Njambi Koikai, has established the cause of his death.
Government pathologist Grace Mirigo, who presided over the examination at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, determined that Koikai died from severe bleeding caused by self-inflicted wounds to his neck.
Inspector Vincent Kemboi from the Kiambu DCI office concluded that Koikai’s death was a result of personal anguish.
Family members, friends, and relatives gathered to seek understanding about the death of their patriarch on June 18.
He died on June 14 coinciding with the day his daughter Njambi Koikai was laid to rest at Langata cemetery.
The autopsy findings indicated that Mr. Koikai had two deep cuts on his neck, and a kitchen knife was found in his right hand at the scene.
Earlier, during the requiem mass of Ms Njambi, the father poured out his heart asking for the departed daughter to forgive him for being away from her while she was growing.
To many people, bearing the pain of burying his daughter overwhelmed him leading to the tragic decision.
