Why governor Orengo was scared after visiting City Mortuary

Siaya Governor has openly admitted that, for the first time in his career as both a lawyer and a politician, he was genuinely frightened when he visited the City Cortuary to view the bodies of youths who perished during the recent protests.

The experienced lawyer emphasized the chilling nature of the deaths, remarking that he had never encountered such gruesome scenes in his numerous visits and witnessing of post-mortem examinations.

“The manner in which some of these youths were killed is deeply unsettling,” the county chief stated, pointing out that excessive force had been used by police against the protesters, resulting in many deaths.

“I must confess that it scared me. The level of force used against the young protestors is alarming,” the governor expressed.

He also raised concerns about the type of firearms used by the police in the fatal encounters, describing them as exceptionally dangerous.

Even in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine in Gaza, I doubt they are employing such lethal weaponry,” he commented.

Mr. Orengo criticized the government for its use of excessive force in suppressing demonstrations, arguing that many young people had lost their lives while exercising their constitutional rights to peaceful protest.
