NAKURU: Students from Jomo Kenyatta Boys High School in Nakuru County have been sent home after going on a rampage.
The students destroyed school property following the teachers’ failure to return to work for the second consecutive week since the start of the third term. This incident follows a similar protest by students from Mbooni Secondary School the previous day.
The ongoing stand-off between the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has severely disrupted learning in public secondary and junior secondary schools. KUPPET Secretary General Akelo Misori announced yesterday that teachers will remain away from their workstations until their demands are met by the employer.
