Call Butere Girls students to State House and have tea

Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah has called on President William Ruto to invite students from Butere Girls High School to State House for tea, following their protest during the National Drama Festivals in Nakuru.

Speaking at the burial of Raila Odinga’s longtime bodyguard, George Oduor, Wajackoyah stated that the incident had negatively impacted the president’s image among young people.

“I will advise you to do what I would have done if I was the president of Kenya. Call the students and the principal and have tea at State House. Currently, you have a bad name among the youths,” Wajackoyah said.

He suggested that a meeting at State House would provide an opportunity to resolve the issues stemming from the students’ protest.

The students’ demonstration at the National Drama Festival occurred after their drama director, former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, was arrested.

The students subsequently walked off stage during their performance, after singing the national anthem.
