Police investigating a daring raid in Southern bypass

NAIROBI: Police have launched a manhunt for a gang that raided a construction site along the Southern Bypass in Lang’ata, Nairobi, stealing valuable machinery parts in a daring nighttime operation.

According to police and officials from the China Road and Bridge Corporation, the suspects—armed with pangas—broke into a sewerage construction site and made away with assorted parts from parked excavators and a standby generator.

Two security guards on duty were tied up and locked in a room during the incident, but no injuries were reported.

Authorities say the value of the stolen equipment is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing.
