Prominent city lawyer and former Political Parties Disputes Tribunal chairman, Mathew Kyalo Mbobu, has been shot dead by gunmen on a motorcycle in Nairobi.
Police and witnesses said Mbobu was in a traffic jam in his four-wheel-drive car when the assailants, who were riding on a motorcycle, shattered his windshield.
They then shot him at least three times in the chin before riding off.
The incident occurred less than a kilometer from the Galleria Mall. Police who rushed to the scene found his body slumped on the driver’s seat.
The motive for the attack was not immediately known. In addition to his legal practice, Mbobu was also a law lecturer at the University of Nairobi.
