Former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta visited the family of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

She traveled to the home of the late Prime Minister at Karen in Nairobi to condole with them following the veteran leader’s death.

This visit marked the first time Mama Ngina had been with the family since Raila Odinga was laid to rest at his rural home on October 19, 2025.

During the visit, she met with Mama Ida Odinga and other family members to offer her condolences and support.

Mama Ngina, the mother of Kenya’s fourth President, Uhuru Kenyatta, was warmly received by the family.

The Odinga family later took to X to express their deep gratitude for her presence.

“Thank you, Former First Lady, H.E. Mama Ngina Kenyatta and your family for joining the nation in mourning and coming home to commiserate with H.E. Mama Ida Odinga and the family of the late Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, CGH,” the statement read.

Since Raila Odinga’s burial, a steady stream of local and international leaders has continued to visit Opoda Farm to offer condolences and pay tribute to his life and legacy.
