Olive Burrows, talented news presenter set to join Citizen TV

Olive Kalekye Barrows, the esteemed anchor of NTV, bid farewell to the Kimathi Street-based media house early last week. While she did not disclose her next destination, Kondele News, with insights from insiders in the media industry, has learned that the eloquent and captivating anchor is headed to Royal Media Services.

Ms. Barrows, a seasoned journalist who joined the Aga Khan-owned media house six years ago, is poised to fill the void left by Victoria Rubadiri, who recently joined her former colleague Waihiga Mwaura at BBC.

To corroborate the rumors circulating within the media circles, Stephen Letoo, the senior political reporter at Citizen TV, extended a warm welcome to Ms. Barrows at Maalim Juma Road, stating that viewers were eagerly anticipating her arrival.

Ms. Barrows’ departure from NTV comes at a challenging time for the company, as it navigates the complex landscape of the Kenyan media industry.

Mr. Letoo, in a post on his official Facebook account, expressed his excitement about Ms. Barrows’ arrival, affirming that Citizen TV was ready to embrace her talents. “True Woman Olive Kalekye Barrows, welcome to the biggest news platform, Citizen TV Kenya. Our 22 million viewers at night and 12 million viewers during the day can’t wait to see your infectious smile on their screens,” shared the outgoing Men’s Conference chair.
