Residents of Kajiado County have called on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to crack down on inflammatory political rhetoric threatening to disrupt peaceful coexistence in the region.

Speaking in Kitengela, community members expressed growing alarm over an uptick in ethnic profiling as political activities heat up ahead of the next election cycle.

The outcry follows viral video clips featuring political activist and former senior county official Naini Tipape Naini, who allegedly urged members of the Maa community to target the local Gusii population.

In the clips, Naini referred to the Gusii community as “immigrants,” calling on locals to deny them employment opportunities and forcibly drive them out of the area.

Firmly condemning the statements, residents warned that unpunished hate speech risks destroying the social fabric of a county known for its ethnic diversity and economic integration.

Having formally reported the matter to law enforcement and cohesion authorities, community members appealed to politicians and activists nationwide to exercise restraint, practice tolerance, and protect national unity.
