Suba North lawmaker Millie Odhiambo has warned Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga over what she termed as the latter undermining her in her constituency.

Her remarks come just days after an ugly scene involving Ms Odhiambo and alleged goons sent to Mfangano Island to attack her.

Speaking to a mammoth crowd at a separate event within the constituency, Ms Odhiambo told Ms Wanga to cease stepping on her toes politically.

“I remember I told the former President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop interfering with the opposition, I don’t fear anybody. I also once told President William Ruto to stop undermining the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Today, I want to warn my younger sister to stop undermining me in my constituency,” said Ms Odhiambo.

Ms Odhiambo further mentioned that over the years, she has been at the forefront supporting and voting for Ms Wanga.

“I have been voting for Wanga for all those years, yet she has never voted for me. If she goes along that route then I shall tell the people to think otherwise.”

“Don’t feel pretty just because President Ruto recently told the electorate to remember you in 2027, I want to remind you that President Ruto votes far away from Homa Bay.”

Ms Odhiambo narrated that after the goons confronted her in Mfangano, they went as far as threatening to kill her on her way back from the island.

Ms Odhiambo and Ms Wanga have not been on good terms politically, especially after the death of Mr Odinga.

Before Odinga’s death, Ms Wanga was elevated to the party chair position after it fell vacant; the former chair, John Mbadi, had just been appointed Cabinet Secretary in charge of the National Treasury in the newly formed broad-based government.
