Ol-Kalou: Ten individuals appeared before the Nyahururu Anti-Corruption court today, facing charges of embezzling Sh55.8 million from the Ol-Kalou Constituency Development Fund (CDF) coffers.
An investigation conducted by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission revealed that the suspects, including CDF officials and directors of various companies, allegedly misappropriated funds designated for road construction projects that were never completed.
The accused individuals—John Kariuki, Simon Nduati Kariuki, Ludovick Ngera Gachara, Jerush Waithera Wambui, Samuel Ngugi Gachuki, Peter Mburu Mwangi, Charles Chuaga Ndung’u, Janerose Muthoni Wachira, Titus Kibui Kariuki, and Dominic Mulwa Kasina—reportedly authorized payments despite the absence of corresponding work on the ground.
Following the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions’ agreement with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission’s recommendations, the suspects face a total of 16 counts of corruption and economic crimes.
